Family policies
What families ask us before a child starts.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home until they have been well for a full day. If a child becomes ill at school, we call you right away, and a guide stays with them until you arrive.
Drop-off and pickup
We release a child only to the adults on the pickup list you give us, and we ask for ID at the door until we know you. Tell us ahead of time when someone new is coming.
Late pickup
Morning pickup is at 12:30 p.m. and school-day pickup is at 3:30 p.m. Call or text the school if you are running behind, and a guide will wait with your child. The enrollment agreement says how repeated late pickups are handled.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families send lunch and a water bottle. We prepare a morning snack with the children: fruit, vegetables and something to spread. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll. We ask families not to send nuts.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for winter break, one week in spring and the usual holidays, and we share the year's closures when the school year starts. When weather closes the school, we email and text families early in the morning.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice before a child leaves, so we can offer the place to a family on the waitlist. The enrollment agreement says what happens to a month in progress.
What to wear and bring
Send clothes your child can manage alone and that can get wet or dirty, shoes that stay on for outdoor time, and a spare set of clothes in a labeled bag. Indoor shoes stay at school.
